Trash Talk

Community Collection Centers may be used to dispose of collectible items by residential customers who receive an exemption from curbside pick-up and non-collectible items by both residential and non-residential customers.

All Community Collection Centers are open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Northwest County Solid Waste Facility, 8001 W. Linebaugh Ave., Tampa 33625 (phone: 813-264-3816), accepts collectible waste, non-collectible waste, yard waste, scrap metal, tires, used motor oil, lead acid batteries, household electronics, and recyclable curbside material.

Even the nicest garbage and/or yard waste cans and bags are not a thing of beauty.  Please don't put them on the curb until the day before collection, and keep them out of sight on non-collection days.

How do I make an unwanted sofa, refrigerator, fencing, or other large household item disappear? Take it to the Northwest County Solid Waste Facility at 8001 W. Linebaugh Ave, Tampa 33625

Unfortunately, the contract the County has does not provide for low-cost collection of bulk items.  If you can get your bulk items to the NW County Solid Waste facility on Linebaugh Ave., you can dispose of them for free when you show a copy of your property tax bill.

How can I get a copy of my property tax bill for free admission to "the dump" on Linebaugh?

How do I properly dispose of household chemicals, electronics, and fluorescent light bulbs? Take to the community collection center on Linebaugh.

Household paint is accepted at the Community Collection Center.

Electronics are not accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Saturday collections. This is to reduce the wait times in line.  Electronics are accepted only at the Community Collection Centers (solid waste facility), which are open six days a week.

Residents may take household chemicals, electronics, and hazardous waste to the Northwest County Collection Center at 9805 Sheldon Road Tampa Fl 33635 on the 1st Saturday of each month from 8am - 2pm for proper disposal.

Do I recycle my pizza boxes?

No, not here in Hillsborough County. The City of Tampa does, but Hillsborough County does not.
